Methanol from Biomass

Published by peregrinus at 9:01 pm under Alternative Energy

From reading the book Energy Victory: Winning the War on Terror by Breaking Free of Oil by Robert Zubrin, I see the possibility of Methanol/Ethanol production for many forms of BioMass.

One source that is not mentioned in the book which could be a possible huge contributer to BioMass could be sewage.

You already have central collecting points in almost every local in the country, why not use the existing infrastructure to build the conversion plants.  Add in garbage collections to the same point and not only will you have additional material, you can reduce the use of landfills.
