Maybe it is Time for Another “Crusade”

Published by peregrinus under Evangelization, Ramblings

No. I am not talking about in the “classical” definition of “crusade”. What I am talking about is more on the level of Evangelization to combat the ravages of Relativism that is imploding our society.

It seems more and more that we are not allowed to express our opinion anything these days. Yet, other are allowed to make outrageous and slanderous claims against the Church and we are expected just to take it. More than once, I have been told not to “push your morality on us”. However, they have no qualms about “pushing their immorality on others”.

We need to start fighting back in the public forum even it means going to jail. This includes openly ignoring “positive” laws that are is direct opposition to God’s Natural Law.

Another major threat to todays society is Islam who wants to conquer Christianity and turn us into third class citizens (i.e. Dhimmis or slaves). It seems that, again, they are free to impose their threats and will on us and we are not allowed to complain. We are threatened with threats of violence and arrest if we even attempt to evangelize Muslims.

Note: I will expand on this later, I just wanted to get this entry started.

Charities. Do we really give in line with the Teachings of the Catholic Church?

Published by peregrinus under Responsible Stewarship

I wonder how careful we are in how we donate our monies to charities.  Do we first research before we give or to we give without thinking.

It seem that there is articles almost weekly that brings scandal on a charity due to how they distributes funds or who it is associated with it.  Most recently, it has been Habitat for Humanity and its association with Planned Parenthood.

Before I give to a charity, I make sure there is no association with anything that is contrary to the teachings of the Catholic Church.  This means, however, there are very few charities on my giving list due to their funding of infanticide (abortion, contraception), embryonic stem cells, euthanasia, and the likes.  Most of the charities I give to are Catholic in nature because of these restrictions.

What grates me when a Catholic says that they give to certain charities on the condition that the money does not go to activities that go against Catholic teachings.  Don’t they know that only means that more funds can be funneled to the other activities.

We must be vigilant.

Common Sense?

Published by peregrinus under Ramblings

Reading the news these days, there is common sense in decisions that are being made.

One glaring example is the relief effort in Burma. First, the government there made things worse by blocking relief efforts and then the United Nations decides that one of the most important relief supplies is condoms. Somehow I think that sex is the last thing on the minds (survival being the first thing) of the people there.

However, in the “infinite wisdom” of the Secular Relativists at the UN, “Population Control” = “Relief Effort”.

The Death Wish of the Secular Relativists

Published by peregrinus under Ramblings

Yes, it is another entry on the Secular Relativist.

The Secular Relativists have a Death Wish. No, not for themselves, but for everyone else. It seems like no matter what the so called “crisis” is, they seem to think population “control” (”control” is a code word for “reduction”) is the solution.

  • High food prices: Solution, less people
  • High energy prices: Solution, less people
  • “Man Made Global Warming”: Solution, less people

Mind you, they never admit that they are the cause of most, if not all, of the so-called “crises” (Man Made Global warming is not a crisis, it is a falsehood). Their policies prevent food from being planted and energy sources (both known and alternative) from being explored and utilized.

It also seems that population controls are for others, not them. Some of the methodologies of this population control are:

  • Abortion (Infanticide)
  • Euthanasia
  • Sterilization

Many of these have been and/or are now being forced on populations, many of those in “third world” countries.

The world needs to wake up to their perverse agenda and put a stop to them before it is too late.

What is the Greatest Threat to Today’s Society?

Published by peregrinus under Ramblings

Radical Islam (i.e. Terrorists)?
“Global Warming”?
Overpopulation?

The answer is none of these.

The greatest threat to today’s society is Relativism. On many occasions, Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out against relativism calling it a “denial of objective truth” and “the denial of moral truths.” Although it is too long to publish here, Pope Benedict states the following in his Address on Dictatorship of relativism address:

Today, a particularly insidious obstacle to the task of education is the massive presence in our society and culture of that relativism which, recognizing nothing as definitive, leaves as the ultimate criterion only the self with its desires. And under the semblance of freedom it becomes a prison for each one, for it separates people from one another, locking each person into his or her own ego

Relativism is so prevalent now, it is a “religion” to many and, although it claims to be tolerant, it is one of the most intolerant philosophies today.

We must combat Relativism and it many tentacles that are strangling society before it drags in into the abyss.

A Word on My Opionion of Today’s Society

Published by peregrinus under Ramblings

From reading my previous posts, one would get the impression that my opinion that today’s society, as a whole, may be beyond redemption. Guess what…

YOU ARE CORRECT!!!!

As a whole, I believe large sectors of society today will not change and is leading those who embrace it into self inflicted destruction.

That does not mean that all are doomed. Far from it. There are some of us who oppose today’s trends. We still believe that God’s Natural Law takes precedence over man’s “Positive Law”. Of course, that means that we open ourselves up to criticism and even persecution for standing up for the Truth.

Hollywood likes to portray a vision of a “post-apocalyptic” society of total chaos ran by barbaric tribes or gangs. In their version, this society is caused by a nuclear war. The reality is that war will not be the cause but the continual and incessant denigration of society by the perversions of the Secular Relativist.

Pray that is does not happen, but I doubt it can be stopped without direct intervention from God.

And the Implosion Continues…

Another telltale sign of the implosion of society caused by the Secular Relativist occurred today. Today, the California Supreme Court overturns gay marriage ban.

On the subject of homosexuality, the Catholic Church is explicitly clear. The Catechism States as follows:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

The ruling by the California Supreme Court flies is an “in your face” challenge to God’s Natural Law saying that He is not in charge and the “do not impose your morality on us” mentality so prevalent in the Secular Relativists. Of course, they have no qualms about imposing their immorality on us. Such is the duplicity of the Secular Relativists.

“Homosexual Marriages” is in direct conflict with God’s Natural Law. It not only soils the Sacrament of Marriage, it give a perverse assent to an act that is “intrinsically disordered.”

What is so disheartening is what I am reading of a forum where I am active. There are actually a number of “Catholics” that are applauding this decision. Such is the case when relativism is allowed to disfigure the conscious.

Thus continues the slippery slope towards the implosion of society on a scale that has not been seen since Sodom and Gomorrah.

Are Our Habits Feeding Our Enemies?

When I say “habit, I mean our addition to oil and the enemies are the Radical Islamic Terrorists.

The answer is probably yes. Much of the oil money sent to the Middle East ends up in the hands of groups like Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the likes.

How? It is mainly through governments like Iran and “religious groups” like the Wahhabists in Saudi Arabia. There is strong evidence that both Iran and the Wahhabists both train and give financial aide to the terrorist groups. This evidence is too lengthy to go into here, but it is out there. Of course, most of these sources reporting this are considered “conservative” and/or “right wing” propagandists and is ignored by most in the Main Stream Media (which have their own agenda).

We need to break our need for oil by finding replacements for it. Bio-Fuels (non foodstock like corn based as I have said before), nuclear and other energy sources must be research and implemented. The sooner the better. Energy independence is a defeat for our enemies.

Revisiting: Is Speculation in the Commodity Markets Immoral?

Awhile back I asked the question whether speculation in the commodity markets is immoral. Since then I have kept tabs on the commodity markets and am convinced more than ever that the commodity market have indeed become immortal.

Oil and food prices are rising on the mere hint of trouble (real or imagined) in those markets and there are hyped reports daily of further rises further fueling the rise. Just a few years ago, a threat of a hurricane or inclement weather would not of caused a ripple in oil and fuel prices. Now they cause wild swings to the upside of the market. The only persons this wild speculation benefits is the speculators. Everyone else loses.

One bright note, I expect that, like the housing market, the commodity markets may be in for a crash.

Is Catholicism and Socialism Incompatible?

Published by peregrinus under Responsible Stewarship

This was the jist of a question asked on a forum of which I am a member.  Although Socialism seems to have many redeeming aspects, I would have to say, in its current form, no.

Consider this. Liberation Theology which combined Marxism (the ultimate form of Socialism) and Christianity was condemned by the Church. Socialism (especially its extreme forms like Marxism and Nazism) is inherently anti-religion and violent in nature.

In addition government control does not necessarily mean contributing to the general welfare. In many cases, it actually harms the general populace through rationing of food and healthcare and the burdensome beaurocracy.  Free will is removed from the people since every aspect of life is controlled by the state of which, in many case, they are considered property.

Furthermore, socialism has given rise to relativism, which is increasing imploding society.

No, socialism in its many current forms is not the answer but the problem.
