Been Banned from Catholic Answers Forums

Published by peregrinus at 8:40 pm under Ramblings

Some who know me know I was a prolific poster over at Catholic Answers Forums.  In recent months, however, my activity, although still substantial, has dropped off considerably.  There were many reasons for this but it was a general dissatisfaction with the forums and the direction it was taking.

Today was the last straw.  I did not like something was going and I made it publically known.  Due to that, I received an infraction.  At that point, I had made up my mind to “retire” from the forums completely and stated so on a thread that I frequent.

However, before I could send the “retirement” notification (I was going to do it tonight), I got notified that I had been banned for posting my intention to “retire”.

To tell you the truth, I am glad.  I was spending too much time over there following too many threads.  I have many other projects that I could better spend my time on.

Will I miss Catholic Answers Forums, maybe, but I doubt it.  In fact, I may consider it a badge of honor.

I might be leaving there soon as well. Not as many of the regular folks hanging out in the clubhouse, but other areas just getting too liberal for my taste.

At the very least, I’m probably going to limit myself to the clubhouse threads but not that often.

I am sorry to hear this. I, for one, always enjoyed your posts, especially in the Politics forum. :(

Meh, I hit it every now and then, and post until I get slapped for uncharitable posts when I tell some one the truth and they can’t handle it. I find it best to just lurk on CAF

LR Leave. There is other places you can better spend your time. To tell you the truth, I have been thinking of getting myself banned for quite awhile. I just think it would be for something as petty as this

I can’t remember when I was last there. I log in periodically.

I owe them a great deal of thanks. It was frustration over moderated posts that prompted me to start my own blog!

Diane. I stayed longer than I should. Not healthy there anymore

Hey, I followed the link on your banned identity on Catholic Answers. I was surprise because I’ve read a lot of your posts, and you had so many posts.

Other forums do more temporary things, banned seems really brutal, especially for a Christian site.

The site seems to have a lot of angry people and it’s not always a good reflection on our faith. I seem to be ignored quite a bit there, or I get sarcastic responses to the mildest remarks.
